The Spiritual Roots of Extreme Weather

A Talk About Healing Our Relationship With Weather

Online Tuesday, September 15th, 6:30-7:45pm PDT
Nature is speaking to us in many strong ways, with drought, fires, winds and floods…

…trying to get our attention.

How did we get here? How do we find our way back to a healthy relationship with the sacred waters that fall from the sky?

Join us for a virtual circle to learn about the time-honored relationships between humans and the Weather Spirits and how we can rebuild our relationship with them to foster more balance in the world.

I’ll share stories from my 19 years experience as a Granicera (weather worker), and a ceremony leader and healer in the Nahua indigenous tradition of central Mexico.

You’ll gain insight about how to deepen your relationship with the Weather Spirits, we’ll do a guided Nature connection meditation and there will be time for sharing and Q&A.

Feedback from participants of this event:

“Thank you for your clear, articulate presentation last night. I’m touched by the work you do and am letting your words & concepts sink into my body-mind. The Nahua worldview is so different from our materialistic western conditioning ... the idea of reciprocity and relationship ... I love the way you compared it to our human relationships that require our constant care and attention, as well as a continual exchange of giving and receiving.”~Jane Karp

"Megan demonstrates true dedication to an indigenous tradition that has important benefits to offer.  Her talk on our relationship with weather was heartfelt, informative, and truly crucial in today's climate.  She shares ancestral wisdom from experience and with love and devotion. I highly recommend this talk!"~John Huang

About Megan Pilar Montero

Megan was initiated as a Granicera or Weather Worker in the Nahua indigenous tradition of central Mexico in 2007. She is also a Tepahtiani or Traditional Healer in the same tradition. After completing an ancient process of apprenticeship and building relationships with sacred medicine sites in Mexico through pilgrimage, she went through an initiatory process to become a Tepahtiani. In 2021 she began offering traditional Nahua healing at her home healing space in Santa Cruz, California.

Megan has been leading semi-annual community rain ceremonies in Santa Cruz since 2015 to help people re-establish a balanced relationship with the Weather Spirits and all of Nature.
