morning meditation with grandmother ocean

morning meditation with grandmother ocean

Sunday, August 30, 8:00-9:00am
Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz
Do you recall how good it feels to go to the ocean, how it calms your worries and quiets your mind, how your shoulders drop, and you can breathe more deeply?

This offering was born out of my own desire to spend more time in Nature and more time with community. From what I hear others are craving that too, yet we don’t seem to motivate on our own. So I thought, what if we went together?

At this gathering, we’ll take time to experience and deepen our relationship with Grandmother Ocean to bring more balance and healing to our lives. I’ll share my practice from my 19 years experience as a Granicera or Weather Worker in the Nahua indigenous tradition of central Mexico and as a healer and ceremony leader in the same tradition.

This offering is less about ‘learning’ and more about ‘experiencing’ Nature.

Ocean Meditation

What we’ll do:

  • We’ll take a short walk through the park to sit on the beach by Grandmother Ocean. (15 min)

  • I’ll share about the time-honored and traditional relationships between humans and the living world of Nature. (15min)

  • We’ll do a simple ritual of honoring Grandmother Ocean and meditate with her. (20min)

  • We’ll share our experiences. (10min)

  • You can stay longer at the beach or walk back together to the entrance to the park.

I think you’ll enjoy our time together with Grandmother Ocean if:

  • You love how it feels when you’re by the ocean, in the forest or in your garden.

  • You’d like to connect more with other heart-centered, Nature loving humans.

  • You’re open to having a relationship of reciprocity with Nature.

  • You’re drawn to indigenous ways of living.

  • You crave deeper meaning, purpose and connection.

Feedback from participants:

“I love these morning meditations!"

“I had the most pleasant and peaceful meditation morning with Megan, at Natural Bridges State Beach. Whenever I am in the company of nature and Megan in particular, it can be guaranteed that the I will experience the most profound perspectives and insights that come out of those experiences and this event offered that and more. It was very special! How incredible that something so simple could provide something so amazing."
